What To Wear Christmas Day

What to wear christmas day becomes an easy choice when you live in Australia – a casual, cool maxi dress. And my decision is made even easier as this is one of my favourite on-repeat christmas dresses, a vibrant red silk dress by Hemant & Nandita which I bought from Anthropologie a few years ago. Red being a quintessential christmas colour: Father Christmas’ rosy cheeks and scarlet coat; red embossed wrapping paper; shiny red tinsel; glittering red baubles and bright red holly berries. The loose fitting style with a tie waist is perfect for that once-a-year, christmas over indulgence.

Wearing the same dress for the same occasion every year doesn’t phase me. Especially when the colour and style is perfect for christmas holidays and vacations by the beach. Whilst christmas with my family is a relaxed, laid-back affair with the opening of presents in the morning followed by our traditional English midday roast meal, an afternoon snooze and trip to the beach thrown somewhere into the mix – the inner fashionista in me still wants to look stylish on christmas day. And the trick to getting away with wearing the same outfit twice? Mixing up the details like shoes, bags and accessories.

What outfit will you be wearing on Christmas Day?
